Our infrared-powered hot yoga studio infuses traditional yoga poses, fun bursts cardio inducing exercises as well as pilates-inspired poses on the mat to sculpt, strengthen, lengthen and define your body. If you sit too much and move too little, our studio is the community you need to help you become more active. Plant your seed and watch it grow as you sweat out toxins and release stress.

Meet Kim

As a long-time hot yoga practitioner and experienced instructor, Kim Walker knew it was time to open her own studio. Kim is a native of Baton Rouge and is excited to bring yoga wellness to the community powered by the healing benefits of Infrared heat. Kim believes the practice of hot yoga along with balanced nutrition is the reason she has successfully managed her fibromyalgia diagnosis in 2012. A Southern University Alum, Kim is married to Kevin, has two adult children, and loves interior design and travel.

That is by design. When you step into an infrared heated hot yoga studio, you will immediately notice that the heaters emit a therapeutic heat. It directly permeates the body alleviating aches, increasing circulation, and offers a whole range of health benefits. Infrared is also one of the most eco-friendly and economical heating systems available. Not only will you sweat during your workout, you will have the option to experience post recovery with a session in our in house Infrared Heat Sauna! If you want to detox, improve your circulation, relax your muscles, reduce stress and improve skin tone/healthy complexion, then visiting our studio for an Infrared sauna session is for you!

  • It's recommended to wear lightweight, breathable clothing to an infrared hot yoga class. Bring a yoga mat, towel, water bottle, and any props you typically use for your practice.

  • Yes, infrared hot yoga can be suitable for beginners. It's important to listen to your body, take breaks when needed, and modify poses as necessary. Beginners may want to start with shorter class durations or beginner-friendly sessions.

  • Class duration is 45 minutes. The class structure may include warm-up exercises, a sequence of yoga poses (asanas), breathing exercises, and a final relaxation period.

  • Consistency is key to seeing results. Aim to practice infrared hot yoga at least 3 times per week to experience the benefits and progress in your practice.

  • Our minimum age requirement is 14 years old. 14-15 year old must be accompanied in class by a parent / legal guardian. All minors (under 18) must have a waiver signed by a parent prior to taking a class. The waiver needs to be signed in studio.

  • Certain health conditions, such as cardiovascular issues, high blood pressure, or pregnancy, may require special considerations or medical clearance before participating in infrared hot yoga. Consult with your healthcare provider if you have any concerns or specific health conditions.

  • A loaner mat can be provided for your first visit however, it's generally recommended to bring your own mat for hygiene purposes. Mats are available for purchase in studio.

  • The studio does have a bathroom to change and freshen up however, no shower is available.

  • Pregnancy brings additional considerations, so it's important to consult with your healthcare provider. Infrared hot yoga may not be suitable due to the increased body temperature and potential risks associated with overheating during pregnancy.

  • The cost of a class/session and membership options vary. Please see the website or app to get specific costs. This includes any introductory offers, too.

  • There are numerous benefits of yoga. Through a consistent practice of yoga, you will increase circulation, mobility and strength while also enhancing sleep quality. A consistent practice of 3 or more times per week has been show to improve the symptoms of many chronic diseases including but not limited to depression, diabetes, anxiety, COPD and heart disease.

  • Our style of yoga infuses traditional yoga, mat inspired pilates and cardio. You will be challenged mentally and physically. The sequences will combine balance, flexibility and strength work for your entire body. If consistent, you can tone muscles, gain strength and also lose weight.

  • All bodies can do yoga. Any body type can do yoga. Our studio will ensure you have the tools you need to successfully do Yoga at your pace for overall wellness.

  • It is no problem to cancel your membership. A 30 day cancellation notice is required for any membership. Simply email info@moveyourbodyyoga.com to start the cancellation process.
